Derek is known to his competitors as the Island Warrior and weighs in at 137kgs and is 194cm tall. Also, he is the holder of the Guinness World Record for pulling the heaviest vehicle, a 52 tonne semi-trailer which he pulled over 30 metres in just 48 seconds.
He follows a very intensive training regimen and it is imperative that he obtains sufficient nutrients. He consumes between 6000 - 7000 calories a day focusing on high protein, moderate carbohydrate and low fat foods, combined with an extensive supplementation program to assist muscle development, strength and recovery.
